CARLENE CARTER (June Carter)
LORRIE DAVIS BENNETT (Anita Carter) Lorrie Davis Bennett was born with country music in her blood. As soon as she learned to walk, she toddled onstage with her mother, Anita Carter, her grandmother, Maybelle, and her aunts, Helen and June. As a child, Lorrie had the unique opportunity to learn the music business from her father, steel guitarist, producer and Alabama Music Hall of Fame member, Don Davis, and her mother, who is considered the greatest female vocalist in the history of country music. By age 14, she was touring with the Carter Sisters, and, later, Johnny Cash, who said , “Lorrie has the same beautiful voice as her mother.” Lorrie recently graced June Carter Cash’s CD Wildwood Flower and the Carter Family tribute CD. GINA STEWART (Mama Maybelle) Gina Stewart is an actress and musician, who has appeared in theatre productions of the one-woman show “Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe,” the premiere of “Raney” and toured with the NC Shakespeare Festival. She appeared in numerous feature films and television series, notably, “American Gothic,” “Dawson’s Creek” and “Walker, Texas Ranger.” She currently writes and produces music in her studio, Belle Rouge, and with her band, “Volatile Baby.”
JANET McMAHAN (Helen Carter) Janet McMahan (Helen Carter) graduated from David Lipscomb College with a degree in Piano performance. After graduation, she toured with the legendary Roy Orbison as a keyboard player and has subsequently appeared on numerous Grammy-nominated and Dove-award-winning works. Over the course of her career, she has performed with Steve Winwood, John Denver, Michael W. Smith, Sandy Patti, Bill Gaither, Dolly Parton and Big Bird, to name a few. Janet’s writing, acting and producing credits include McDonald’s, Toyota, General Tire and Target. On stage, her most recent performances include “Our Town”, “Prisoner of Second Avenue” and “A Christmas Carol”.

WRITER/DIRECTOR BOBBY BODFORD Bobby Bodford earned a B.A. in Theatre and Theatre Management from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. While at UNCG, he received numerous accolades for The Christmas Seal Story, a film he wrote, directed and produced for the National TB and RD Association. Mr. Bodford owned and was managing director of Brandt and Dean’s Barn Theatre in Roanoke, VA and served as President of the Virginia Performing Arts Association. He also flourished for 14 years in feature film and television production before a return to North Carolina in 1992. His reputation as a talented director has grown over the course of 250 professional productions including A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline, Lost Highway: the Music and Legend of Hank Williams and Pump Boys and Dinettes.
